Curricular Activities
All ALS students, regardless of grade level, benefit from being given the opportunity to participate in numerous school events and trips that take place throughout the school year that extend the classroom. These events include cultural days, art exhibitions, the Science/Technology Fair, exhibitions, community service opportunities and attendance at Model United Nations sessions. The school also regularly invites speakers and hosts special events that bring prominent scholars, innovators, career advisors, sports heroes, experts and practitioners to the campus. These guests present their ideas and achievements at a variety of events.
In addition, local field trips are held throughout the year at the various grade levels and appropriate curriculum. The past local field trips include:
- College visits
- Museums
- Factories
- Libraries
- Farms
- Bookstores
- Parks
- Cinema
- Diplomatic Quarter
- Escape Room
These local field trips and experiences are designed to extend the students' learning past the classroom walls and into the community. This enables students to get examples of "real world" learning first hand.
